President Obama signed a $16 billion veteran’s administration reform bill into law Thursday.

The measure provides money for more VA hospitals, doctors and nurses. It’s aimed at erasing the backlog of veterans across the country waiting for care.

A CNN investigation found that dozens of veterans died while waiting for care and uncovered secret lists kept by some VA facilities to hide the waiting periods.

The law includes more funds so some veterans can get health care at private facilities. It also makes it easier to fire or discipline senior VA officials.
