Man killed in skydiving accident identified

FRANKLIN COUNTY (KSNT) – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office have identified the 54-year-old man who was killed in a skydiving accident on Saturday as Brad Giffin of Wichita.

The incident happened Saturday night at about 7:20.

Deputies responded to the 3100 block of K-68 Highway.

Giffin was participating in an event and did not land at the drop zone.

Deputies, volunteer firefighters and personnel from the skydiving company were involved in the search.

Giffin’s body was found in a field about a mile to the east of the drop zone.

The FAA has been notified.

Giffin was an experienced skydiver who had logged more than 500 jumps.
