FORT RILEY (KSNT) – Kansas legislators are fighting potential cuts to personnel and operations at Ft. Riley.
Congressman Tim Huelskamp announced he along with the rest of the Kansas delegation sent letters to the secretary of army and army chief of staff to help protect the fort.
Huelskamp issued the following statement:
“I am committed to working with community leaders and the commanding general to demonstrate why Ft. Riley is the best home for the big red one.”
The Army’s report released in June indicates Ft. Riley faces a worst case scenario of losing 16,000 base employees.
