James Brown elected new police chief


The city has a new “top cop,” with the selection of “James Brown” as its new chief. He’s currently a lieutenant colonel, and assistant chief of police in Kansas City. He has more than two decades of experience Brown is also a command chief master sergeant in the Kansas air National Guard. He takes over October 1st from interim chief Tony Kirk, who was himself a finalist. And he replaces former police chief “Ron Miller” who is awaiting confirmation as US marshal for Kansas.
