SILVER LAKE (KSNT) – The high school sports season is officially underway. Fall sports are allowed to begin practices across Kansas.

The Silver Lake Lady Eagles volleyball team is one of a handful of teams looking to repeat as state champions.

“”I’ve got a smaller class size as a senior group but they’re keeping the same motivation from last year,” Silver Lake head volleyball coach Sarah Johnson said. “They’re excited about the possibilities of continuing the success.”

Silver Lake captured the state volleyball crown in Class 3A last year after a (38-6) campaign.

The Lady Eagles know what it takes to get back to the state tournament.

“Reaching the state tournament again and hopefully getting that state championship again,” Johnson said. “Have to work just as hard as we did last year and probably even harder.”
