ST. MARYS (KSNT) – The St. Marys Bears finished the 2013 season with a 5-5 overall record.
They went 2-3 in the Mid-East League, and after starting out the year winning three of their first four games, the Bears were shut out by Rossville and Silver Lake to finish out the season.
“I think the whole community is ready, all the communities in this area are ready for football,” said St. Marys head coach Kevin Kinderknecht. “They always are, so it should be a great year.”
“The off-season has been tough,” said senior running back and linebacker Brennan Moser. “Everybody has been working hard and putting the work in. I think we’re going to have a great year.”
“We’re going to have to do a better job of being motivated, and in condition, and be able to play all four quarters as good as we can,” said senior tight end, wide receiver, and linebacker Kyle Schremmer. “I feel that if we can do that, we’re going to go a long ways.”
The Bears begin their 2014 campaign at home on September 5 against Marysville.
