ST. GEORGE (KSNT) – The 2013 season was a difficult one for the Rock Creek Mustangs. They finished with a disappointing 2-7 record, and were winless in the Mid-East League.
But a new season, means a fresh slate and a chance to stir up things.
A new state-of-the-art weight room has every athlete in top notch shape for head coach Mike Beam in anticipation for Friday nights.
“We just have to continue to get better at everything we do,” said Beam. “There’s not one place on our offense, defense, or special teams, that was good enough last year, so we have to get better at all of them.”
“We’re going to take every small thing we do and make it a positive,” said senior running back and linebacker Jackson Goodmiller. “Every small thing we’re going to do, we’re just going to take that momentum and use it every play.”
“One of the things we worked on in the off-season was persevering through the tough times,” said senior quarterback and defensive back Alex Feldkamp. “We work hard every play, and every down.”
Rock Creek begins their 2014 season at Wamego on September 5.
