EMPORIA (KSNT) – Student-athletes are Emporia State were put to the test by members of the media on Thursday.

They participated in a mock interview session to see what it is like to field questions from the press. Kansas First News Sports Reporter Matt Gasper assisted during the mock interviews.

“They have a lot more freedom now than maybe they had in the past,” Emporia State Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations Don Weast said. “We need to stress to them the importance and the responsibility of what being an Emporia State student athlete is.”

All of the student-athletes are spending their first-year at ESU and are enrolled in a class called Generating Opportunities Through Academics and Life Skills or (GOALS).
