(WFLA) When 92-year-old Frances Evans got a letter in the mail about her death, she was amused.
“What’s funny is they’re sending the letter to me, telling me they’re sorry I’m deceased. Isn’t that funny,” laughs Evans.
But her son Tim Evans didn’t find the humor in the situation.
“I saw a letter from the VA and it said that any benefits that had been paid for her were going to have to be reimbursed and that’d shed been deceased June 30, 2014. I thought it was a scam. I thought no, no way,” he says.
After calling the Veterans Affairs, Social Security and Medicare and not getting any resolution, Tim was frustrated.
