TOPEKA (KSNT) – The NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series wrapped up at Heartland Park Topeka on Saturday.
This is one of six events in the West-Central division where eight different categories of racers, from top alcohol dragsters and funny cars, to stock eliminators, and super street cars, competed.
Fans came out to brave the heat and watch the non-stop drag racing from 8:00am until 6:00pm.
Drivers from each division earn points that lead to divisional, regional, and eventual national championships at the end of the year with a purse of more than $500,000.
Racing continues at Heartland Park through the middle of October with various events on the drag strip, dirt track, and road course.
