The racially-charged saga of a young black man’s shooting by a white police officer in a St. Louis suburb has moved to a grand jury.
Three black people are among the 12-member grand jury hearing evidence in the case involving 18-year-old Michael Brown of Ferguson, Missouri. The St. Louis county circuit court, confirmed Friday- the racial and gender makeup of the grand jury.
The grand jury consists of six white men, three white women, two black women and one black man. Nine votes are needed to indict Darren Wilson, the Ferguson officer who shot and killed Brown on August 9th.
