OTTAWA (KSNT) – A case of so-called suicide by police, is under investigation in Ottawa.
A vigil was held in honor of 18-year old Joseph Jennings. He was shot and killed by police over the weekend, after reportedly pulling a gun on officers.
Family members say the incident took place just hours after the teen was released from a hospital having received treatment for a failed suicide attempt.
Jennings’ family is upset over the shooting, saying the officers should have handled the situation differently because of the young man’s mental illness.
