Princess Diana’s death reaches 17th anniversary


Sunday marks the 17th anniversary of Princess Diana‘s death in a Paris Limousine crash. 

Princess Diana initially survived the Aug. 31, 1997, crash, but later died from her injuries. Film producer Dodi Al-Fayed and the driver were  killed, and a bodyguard was critically injured.

French authorities found the driver had a high level of alcohol in his system when the crash happened. The paparazzi trailing Princess Diana was also scrutinized.

Thousands attended for her funeral at Westminister Abbey.

Born Lady Diana Spencer, she became the Princess of Wales when she married Prince Charles in 1981. They had two children – Princes William and Harry – before they divorced in 1996.
