TOPEKA (KSNT) – Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff from sun-up to sun-down in Shawnee County on Monday and Tuesday to honor Corporal Jason Harwood of the Topeka Police Department.
Harwood lost his life on Sunday while serving the community.
“On behalf of all the citizens of Kansas, Lt. Governor Jeff Colyer and I, along with our families, extend our deepest sympathies to Corporal Harwood’s entire family,” said Gov. Brownback. “Our prayers are with his family, his friends and the entire community which mourns his loss.”
Harwood was a 15-year veteran of the Topeka Police Department.
