WARRENSBURG, Mo. (KSNT) – LaVance Taylor made all the difference in Thursday’s MIAA matchup between Central Missouri and Emporia State. The Mules running back scored six touchdowns to lead Central Missouri past the Hornets, 50-31.
Taylor scored four rushing touchdowns, returned a kickoff for a score and also caught a receiving touchdown. He racked up 394 all-purpose yards, including 288 yards on the ground.
Emporia State’s Brent Wilson tossed for 489 yards and three touchdowns but was intercepted twice.
Both teams went to the locker room tied at 21 but Central Missouri scored 15-consecutive points in the third quarter and then Taylor’s two 4th quarter touchdowns provided the final separation.
