TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce today announced Curtis S. Sneden will assume the role of Chamber vice president government relations effective September 22. Sneden most recently served in the Payless ShoeSource Law Department as Counsel supporting Retail and International.
Sneden worked as a director for KSNT-TV back in the 1980s, his wife Chris anchored as well.
In making the announcement, Doug Kinsinger, Chamber/GO Topeka president & CEO, said he was excited to welcome Sneden to the Chamber staff, recognizing that Sneden has served as volunteer vice chairman of government relations for the Chamber since 2012 to present. “Curtis has extensive knowledge of the Chamber’s government relations programs, policies, projects and events,” Kinsinger said.
Sneden has been with Payless Shoe Source since 1994, serving as Counsel, Director of Government Affairs and most recently in his role as Counsel supporting Retail and International. He has a juris doctor from Washburn University School of Law and a bachelor’s of science from Kansas State University. He is licensed to practice law in Kansas and Missouri.
An active volunteer in the community, Sneden has served as president of the Disability Rights Center of Kansas and as a member of the Topeka Performing Arts Center and Greater Topeka United Way boards. He’s the president-elect of the Downtown Topeka Rotary Club.
“We are delighted to welcome Curtis to our team as he knows the community well, and has extensive experience in policy development and advocacy, negotiation and conflict resolution, project management and lobbying,” Kinsinger said.
Sneden and his wife Chris live in Topeka and have three children.
