People of all ages lined up along Gage Boulevard several hours before the procession was set to go by. One veteran stood along the street more than 3 hours in advance.
When the procession started around 1:30pm, it included more than 200 police cars, with officers from all over Kansas and Missouri.
Citizens, as well as some of the passing officers had tears in their eyes. Several hundred people lined the streets to pay respect to Corporal Harwood. Community members along waved flags, saluted, and clapped for the Harwood family and Topeka Police Department. The procession lasted about an hour.
