Ottawa Police investigate aggravated battery

OTTAWA,Kan.(KSNT)- At about 3:49 a.m. Sunday, Franklin County Dispatch received a call for a fight in the 500 block of North Hickory Street and dispatched Ottawa police officers and Franklin County sheriff’s deputies. Responding officers discovered one person injured in the incident and administered first aid until paramedics arrived.

Rocky Stephenson, a 31-year-old Ottawa male suffered life-threatening injuries. Stephenson was initially transported by ambulance to Ransom Memorial Hospital and later transferred by ground to Overland Park Regional Medical Center. One male suspect fled the scene on foot.  The suspect was later found and taken into police custody. He was identified as 27-year-old Mike Wilson.

Detectives with the Ottawa Police Department continue to investigate the incident.  Police were assisted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office with the initial response and investigation. No arrests have been made.
