Topekans participate in ‘Drug Take Back Day’

Two collection sites were set up in Topeka as part of the national Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

It’s an annual event that promotes people clean out their unwanted medications that could get in the hands of children, or that are just taking up space in a medicine cabinet.

It provides an alternative to flushing medications down the sink or toilet, which can get into the city’s water supply.
