HOYT (KSNT) – Jackson County authorities have arrested a male suspect Wednesday night relating to a lewd and lascivious incident involving minors.
On Monday the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was seeking a white male believed to be involved in a lewd and lascivious incident that took place with some minor children in Hoyt on Saturday around noon.
A caller reported to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office a lewd and lascivious incident in the area of 1st and Highland Street or near the Royal Valley Elementary School in Hoyt.
The report indicated that a white male allegedly performed a lewd act in close proximity to two minor children less than 14 years of age. The children escaped and ran from the scene and reported the incident.
Deputies responded to the scene Saturday where they began an investigation. Witnesses and victims were interviewed. A description of the suspect was provided to law enforcement including video and still photos from a nearby video surveillance system. Those photos captured a suspect driving a charcoal gray 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck. The pickup truck had a Powercat license plate on the front of the truck with a toolbox in the rear and also had running boards on the sides.
A tip Wednesday afternoon led to the discovery of the suspect’s vehicle in rural Hoyt. Following that discovery a suspect in the case was developed. Victims and witnesses in the case identified the same person as the suspect. The suspect was interviewed by Jackson County law enforcement officers.
The Sheriff’s Office says they want the citizens of Jackson County including the community of Hoyt to know that the suspect, 24-year old Jason Arthur Seematter of Wetmore was arrested Wednesday night by Jackson County and Nemaha County deputies in Wetmore.
