TOPEKA – St. Francis Health is joining over 60 other Spirit of Women hospitals across the country to host a fun, stylish and information-filled event called Little Black Dress today, October 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ramada Hotel and Convention Center in downtown Topeka.
The event is designed to move women towards better health and vibrant living by providing education in a fun and fanciful fashion. In fact, health screenings and assessments will be available at the event.
“Little Black Dress is a unique, festive event designed for women to come together while simultaneously learning about critical health and wellness information,” Tanya Abreu, President and Chief Visionary Officer for the Spirit of Women Hospital Network said.
Participants can hear the latest information on health and wellness for women while enjoying a fun night of shopping, wine tastings, a photo booth and a “Celebrate You” fashion show. The fashion show will feature and recognize those women who have won their battle against breast cancer.
The annual event is hosted by hospitals in cities all over the country, who all work toward the same mission-inspiring and empowering women to visit their healthcare provider annually. This is necessary to get the recommended screenings and assessments that women vitally need to detect an array of medical problems early. Early detection is the best defense.
“We all know that good health is your best fashion accessory and women will leave this event ready to activate positive change for themselves and their families,” Abreu said.
The event is organized and hosted by St. Francis Health, which is a member of the Spirit of Women Hospital Network. The network is a national network of leading hospitals dedicated to improving women’s lives with innovative health and community programs.
This event prides itself in being a fun and informative atmosphere but it’s success rate is what it boasts about the most. Surveys have proven that 44% of attendees of the event made an appointment with their provider soon after and 78% said they planned to make lifestyle changes as a result of what they learned at Little Black Dress.
