TOPEKA (KSNT) – Topeka’s Veteran Administration Medical Center is getting some help from alternative means to help cut energy costs.
According to a VA spokesman, the solar panels just to the south of the main building are part of its “Green Management Program”.
The 3×6 feet panels can generate a maximum of 325 watts per panel.
The $2.73 million project is funded by the VA Central Office and will save more than $300,000 in electrical costs per year.
A seven-foot high privacy fence will surround the solar panel project.
