Drug investigation lead to 4 arrests in Junction City

JUNCTION CITY (KSNT) – Authorities in Junction City have made multiple drug related arrests in the past couple of days as part of an investigation.

The Junction City Police says the Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group has been involved with two major narcotics investigations in the last two days.

Just after 3 p.m. on Thursday the Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group and the Riley County Police Department, assisted by the Junction City Police Department and the Geary County Sheriff’s Department, executed a traffic stop in the 500 block of East Chestnut in Junction City, and a subsequent search warrant was then executed at a local motel.

David Bragg, 30, of Junction City, was arrested for sale of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine and marijuana with intent to sell, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, criminal acquisition of drug proceeds, no Kansas drug tax stamp, and unlawful use of a telecommunication facility.

Soo Burnside, 31, of Manhattan, was arrested for possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to sell, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and no Kansas drug tax stamp.

Both were booked into the Geary County Detention Center, where they were held without bond pending their first appearance in the Geary County District Court.

The Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group seized suspected crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $6,600, nearly two ounces of suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a vehicle and U.S. currency.

At 5:15 Friday morning, the Junction City-Geary County Drug Operations Group, assisted by the Junction City SWAT Team, Junction City Police Department, and the Geary County Sheriff’s Department, executed a search warrant at 1509 Custer Road in Junction City. The search warrant was obtained after a drug investigation into suspected illegal drug activity at the residence.

Nineteen-year old Neko Jones was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to sell, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of stolen property, and aggravated endangering a child.

Thirty-four-year old Naja McCrea was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to sell, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of stolen property, and aggravated endangering a child.

Both  Jones and McCrea were booked into the Geary County Detention Center, where they were held without bond pending their first appearance in the Geary County District Court.
