Missouri man charged in robbery, 114-mile chase

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Columbia man accused of leading law enforcement on a 114-mile high-speed chase in northwest Missouri is jailed in Jackson County on numerous charges.

Prosecutors on Thursday charged 32-year-old Donald Buckner with robbery, armed criminal action and resisting a lawful stop. He was being held on $100,000 cash-only bail and did not have a lawyer.

The Kansas City Star reports (http://bit.ly/1tmu20x ) police briefly chased Buckner on Wednesday afternoon in Columbia, where he was wanted on a warrant for assault.

A few hours later, Kansas City police responding to an armed robbery at a convenience store also tried to stop Buckner. Investigators say Buckner then drove at speeds topping 100 mph from Kansas City to Atchison County, near the Iowa border, where his vehicle blew a tire and caught fire.
