Solar eclipse viewing: public invited

HOLTON – Astronomy students of Highland Community College will be safely viewing the solar eclipse this afternoon, October 23rd.

Looking at the sun directly can damage your eyes so its important to use protective eye wear and to do this safely. The students invite the public to attend their viewing of the eclipse tonight.

The solar eclipse will take place around 4:30 p.m. this afternoon. The astronomy students will set up at the Holton Campus of Highland Community College which is located directly off of Highway 75.

This event is completely free and open to the public. If you do view the solar eclipse it is suggested that you do so safely, no matter where you are.
