Wilson attorneys, Dooley question leaks

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Leaks of information in the investigation into the shooting death of Michael Brown are drawing criticism from both attorneys for the officer involved in the shooting and St. Louis County’s top elected official.

Attorneys for Ferguson officer Darren Wilson said Thursday that they are not responsible for the leaks and that any commentary should only come in a legal venue, not through the media, while the investigation continues.

Also Thursday, St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley issued a statement calling the leaks “orchestrated,” and saying they “do not inspire confidence” in the process, or in prosecutor Bob McCulloch.

Wilson shot the unarmed 18-year-old on Aug. 9. A grand jury is expected to decide by mid-November whether Wilson will face criminal charges, and the Justice Department also is investigating.
