Brown County locate missing person linked to criminal activity

HIAWATHA (KSNT) – On Sunday around 1:40 p.m. officers responded to a report of a reckless driver coming from Fairview on 36 Hwy. The call was then amended to a shots fired call stemming from the same incident. An officer encountered the suspects and stopped the vehicle in the vicinity of 311 N.

Two of the suspects were apprehended and the other suspect, Braiden Guido 17, fled to his residence at that location.

Upon investigation Walter Lee Cole, Jr, 35 Morrill was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Assault and Angel Spomer 19 of Centralia was arrested on a charge of Felony Obstruction. Also arrested stemming from this incident was Joni Spitzengal 39 and Adam Johnson 29 both of Hiawatha and both charged with Obstruction.Spitzengel Spomer Johnson


A search warrant was executed on the residence at 311 N. 8th and Guido was discovered in the attic by the Kansas Highway Patrol SRT team at approximately 7 a.m. Monday and was arrested.

In this case, no shots were ever confirmed in the city of Hiawatha and no officers were ever shot at. The location of the individual was secured by law enforcement and the entry team was called in to respond to a barricaded subject.
