Former Kansas City Chiefs and Royals participate in wounded veteran pheasant hunt

TOPEKA,Kan.(KSNT)- Jacob Edwards is a native Topekan who can often be seen with his bird dogs on the Pursuit Channel. Edwards has long had a dream to take wounded veterans hunting with Royals and Chiefs players from years past. About six months ago, he went out of his way and somehow made it happen before the Royals made post season.

Edwards personally reached out to several guests and celebrities who agreed to participate in the event. Edwards is a six year Marine Veteran who also served a tour in Iraq. He has since devoted his time to giving back to veterans like himself.

On Sunday morning at Muddy Creek in Meriden, KS, his dream finally came true. Several former members of the Royals and the Chiefs were on hand to enjoy a pheasant hunt and social.

At 8 a.m. guests were introduced by General Tafanelli and supporters lined Brown Rd. with encouraging signs to welcome the veterans. Cameras were also rolling for a special segment of the Bird Dog Circuit, which will air on The Pursuit Channel.

Each celebrity was paired with a veteran to hunt alongside. The hunt was followed by a celebratory lunch and meet and greet.
