TOPEKA – The Washburn Athletic Department will host a Kansas City Royals watch party tonight, October 28th for game six of the World Series. And while admission doesn’t cost any money, it is for a good cause.
As part of the Can Emporia food drive, the Washburn Athletic Department is asking for canned/non-perishable food item donation at drop boxes at the entrances. The southeast gate and the northwest gates will be open for entrance to the stadium and the gates will open at 6:30 p.m.
The game will start at 7:07 p.m. at Kaufman Stadium. Fans can bring blankets, bean bags and air mattresses to watch the game. You can watch the game from the field or you can also sit in the stands as well.
Concession stands will not be available, but fans can bring in their own food, however no alcoholic beverages are allowed. Also please no pets on the field or lawn chairs which could dig into the turf field.
