TOPEKA (KSNT) – Topeka Police were looking Monday night for the driver of a white four-door sedan believed to have been involved in a hit and run accident which sent one man to the hospital.
Witnesses say the man was in a crosswalk at the intersection of Lane Street and Huntoon about 8:00 Monday night when he was struck by the vehicle which was traveling north on Lane.
Police say witnesses tell them the vehicle pulled into the parking lot of a nearby Dillons immediately after the accident, then turned around and headed south on Washburn Ave..
According to those who saw the accident, the vehicle is described as a white, four-door sedan with a broken windshield. No license plate number was immediately available.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
