KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Washburn Ichabod senior running back Vershon Moore has been named the MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week after his record-setting performance against Emporia State in the Ichabods’ 36-10 win over the Hornets.
Moore led the Ichabods with a school-record 331 all-purpose yards and four all-purpose touchdowns against the Hornets. He had 31 rushes for 171 yards and three touchdowns while grabbing five catches for 65 yards. He also added three punt returns for 95 yards including an 85-yard punt return for a touchdown. The 331 all-purpose yards stood as a single-game record since the 1988 season when Troy Slusser recorded 292 against Emporia State. The 5-9 senior is a native of Spencer, Okla. where he competed at Midwest State High School.
