TOPEKA – Residents of Northeast Kansas that find themselves short of money this holiday season have a chance at tasty redemption this morning.
The Town and Country Christian Church and Harvesters is hosting the Northeast Kansas Pre-Thanksgiving Food Distribution today. The food distribution starts this morning at 9:30 a.m. and will continue throughout the day while quantities last.
The fresh and nutritious food will be available at the East Entrance to the Kansas Neurological Institute (KNI). The Pre-Thanksgiving Food Distribution will give away nearly 25,000 pounds of quality food to individuals and families requesting it. This will include 2,000 loaves of bread.
A member of each family requesting food needs to show up to receive it. Members from different families may come in the same car though.
If you would like to receive food, go to the stop light at the intersection of SW 21st and Randolph Streets and turn south. Sign will direct you to the Distribution Entrance. Food is distributed entirely on a first come, first serve basis.
