TAMPA, Fla. (CNN) – You’ve heard of an airline losing a bag but one man says an airline lost his dog.
“I have no clue how they could just lose a pet like that.” said Frank Ramano, owner of the dog.
Frank Ramano feels trapped, stuck in Tampa while his best friend is missing. He says Delta lost his dog as he boarded a flight from LAX last Friday.
“They sound like they lost a piece of baggage, that’s it. He’s family, he’s like my best friend.”
He rescued Ty a year ago, Frank was homeless at the time.
“He was like a big anxiety pill he would help me through the rough times.”
So when it came to flying to Tampa for several weeks, Frank refused to leave his dog behind. He bought a $200 ticket for Ty and put him in a crate.
According to Delta, Ty chewed through the crate and escaped.
“It’s aggravating.” said Frank. “I don’t trust Delta.”
Frank says Ty’s microchipped and he won’t stop searching for his dog.
“I just want him home safe. I want him back, I just want to be reunited with Ty again.”
