PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Fifteen hikers from a church group have been rescued after being missing overnight in mountains northeast of Los Angeles.
A helicopter hoisted the hikers from the wilderness of Eaton Canyon Monday morning and they were then driven to a nature center and reunited with family and friends.
The group set out Sunday morning for what was supposed to be a day hike.
Anajancy (Ah-nuh-YAWN-see) Armenta, a relative of two hikers, says one hiker suffered a minor injury and night was falling so the group made a shelter and decided to stay overnight.
