TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Topeka RoadRunners return from a month-long road trip this weekend but before the team hits the ice head coach Scott Langer gave back to the community. He joined Jim Garrison from State Farm to deliver free tickets to residents at Sheltered Living, Inc. in Topeka.
The RoadRunners lead the NAHL South division with a (15-5-2) record and the team is set to begin a 14-game homestand at Landon Arena.
“It’s certainly exciting,” Langer said. “We’ve only played six home games so to get home and to get our team on home ice in front of our fans is certainly energizing.”
Topeka hosts the Springfield Junior Blues on Friday and Saturday, followed by the Lone Star Brahmas next weekend to wrap up the month of November,
“It’s crucial that our hockey team takes advantage of this long home stretch because when we get toward the end of the year the travel gets tough again, Langer said.”
