TOPEKA (KSNT) — When Lance Corporal Brady Anderson and his wife Sarah drove up to their new home in Topeka, they weren’t only shocked to see all of their friends and family – but they were also speechless.
The couple received the keys to their newly renovated home, donated mortgage-free by Homestrong USA and Bank of America.
Bank of America has donated more than 16,000 homes nationwide to military veterans.
“There is great success around the program,” said Thomas Zuffa, Customer Marketing Manager, Bank of America. “Many families’ lives have been changed and really have helped transition into civilian life.”
During the past two years of service, Lance Corporal Anderson has seen his family twice — once to get married.
This day marks another special event as their two-and-a-half month old son Sylius met has grandparents for the first time.
“This is amazing,” said Sarah Anderson, LCpl Anderson’s wife. “This house is huge and beautiful and it’s kind of surreal that we actually are going to be living in this house.”
The Andersons says they can’t wait to spend the holidays in their new home surrounded by the people they love — a lot of work has gone into making their dream home come true.
“I would like to say thank you to Bank of America and Homestrong USA, my mom and step-dad for remodeling the whole house,” said Anderson.
