KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Kansas City judge has sentenced a man to 30 years in prison for killing two men in 2012.
The Kansas City Star reports (http://bit.ly/1vjk153 ) a judge delivered the punishment to 51-year-old Oliver Todd on Monday. A jury convicted him of assault, two counts of second-degree murder and three counts of armed criminal action.
Prosecutors say Todd got into an argument with 24-year-old Travis Pernell and 29-year-old Melvin Taylor at a Kansas City home in August 2012. They say Todd was turned away from a gathering at the home but later returned with a gun and killed the men.
