TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Topeka education center marked a milestone Tuesday morning.
Staff at the Sheldon Child Development Center recognized two kitchen cooks for preparing their 1 millionth meal for children and staff.
The school held a ceremony for students and staff to pay honor to Jim Pearce and Linda Avalos for their accomplishment.
To mark the occasion, the cooks were given special aprons. The pair have been cooking at the center since 2001 and cook around 80,000 meals a year, 4 times a day.
