TOPEKA (KSNT) – There was lots of excitement around the Kansas National Guard Headquarters on Topeka Blvd. earlier today – and for very good reason.
These are pictures from inside the facility where an “Active Shooter” drill was conduction Friday morning.
The training was for a simulated attack on the headquarters of the state’s National Guard.
The exercise involved both the National Guard’s police department as well as the Topeka Police Department.
What should like shots could be heard inside the building, but all the sounds and weapons were part of the drill.
The guard says the exercise was designed to “prepare for all contingencies” – including a potential terror attack.
