TOPEKA, Kan.(KSNT)-For many years Governor Sam Brownback and his daughters have rung those familiar bells together. On Saturday, Brownback will be ringing The Salvation Army bell for the Red Kettle Campaign once again.
Brownback will be at Dillions in Fairlawn Plaza to raise money from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign is half way over for this Christmas season, but as of Saturday has only raised 25% of their $220,000 goal. The money raised during the Christmas season supports programs and services year round, and over 165 families have registered for Christmas holiday food boxes and over 500 children will be served through the Christmas Toy Shop at The Salvation Army this year.
