Names released of 2 killed in highway crash

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The names of the two people killed in the crash on Tuesday night have been released by the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Sixty-two year old, Steven G. Galarneau of Scranton and 64 year old David N. Hilleland of Topeka were killed in the two vehicle crash that took place about 5:30 Tuesday evening at the junction of Highway 75 and NW 62nd Street.

The two victims were driving a 1993 Chevrolet Pickup truck and the 2011 Ford F350 was driven by Leon J. Weber, who was accompanied by Mary L. Weber of Yates Center. Neither Mary or Leon were injured in the accident.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol the Chevrolet was headed westbound on NW 62nd Road when the driver failed to yield at the stop sign and attempted to cross U.S. 75. The Ford was traveling northbound on U.S. 75 when it struck by the westbound vehicle on the drivers side door.

The Soldier Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
