EMPORIA (KSNT) -The Emporia Police Department says they are investigating two unrelated domestic fights involving knives.
Police say just after 2:00 Saturday morning, officers responded to Newman’s Hospital for the victim of a stabbing. The victim, a 35 year old male, was uncooperative but officers were able determine that the fight happened at 1519 Center. The victim was later transferred by ambulance to another hospital with what is believed to be non- life threatening injuries.
Sarah Shortle, 24, was arrested and confined in the Lyon County Jail during this investigation with formal charges are pending. Police say the investigation is on-going.
At 7:18 p.m. Saturday, Officers responded to 1025 State #6 for a fight call. Two people, a 20 year old female and 21 year old male reported they were injured by a knife. The injuries are considered non-life threatening. The suspect fled the scene but was located in a car and stopped a short time later.
Twenty-one year old Austin Blow was arrested and confined at the Lyon County Jail during this investigation with formal charges pending. This investigation is also on-going.
