It was a very merry Christmas for the people who participated in the Topeka rescue mission’s Christmas dinner.
A warm, yummy desserts and smiles filled the Topeka rescue mission center – as the annual Christmas day dinner kicked off.
Barry Feaker the Executive Director of Topeka Rescue Mission said that “Today and the whole Christmas season is about letting people know they are important.”
Along with a meal kids were treated with a visit from Santa.
He came with bells on as he made is round to wish each child a merry Christmas.
But today wasn’t just about a Christmas dinner. The Topeka rescue mission also had a room full of toys.
People were able to walk through and receive toys of their choice and a present.
“We’re getting wonderful food, great presents, I mean the kids are really understanding what the joys of Christmas are about, it’s just been, it’s been a great experience.”
And for one boy this was a day he will remember.
“It was awesome, I got to sit with Santa and I got to open really good presents, I got to learn about Jesus and stuff.”
