Kansas African American Affairs Commission hosts community health fair

TOPEKA (KSNT)- In the ninth and final week of its 4Ward Kansas Capitol Walking Program, the KAAAC partnered with MAKIN’ MOVES, Inc. to host a community  health fair at the Kansas State Capitol.

The Topeka Kansas Black Nurses Association offered free health screenings to participants, including blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol checks, from 10-11 a.m. More than 75 people have become physically active through the program.

After health screenings, 22 participants walked up the 296 steps of the Capitol dome.
