Incident reported at West Ridge Mall

TOPEKA (KSNT) -Topeka police are continuing to investigate an incident that occurred Saturday afternoon at West Ridge Mall.

Topeka Police officers responded to the second floor of the mall at about 2:42 p.m. Saturday after a report of an individual being beaten up by what the victim believed to be a 17-year old black male wearing a black tee shirt, blue jeans and Jordan shoes.

An individual accompanying the victim exchanged some words with the suspect before the physical altercation occurred.  The suspect used an unknown type of chain wrapped around his fist to strike the victim several times and the victim reported his shoes were stolen.  The suspect fled the scene and victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
