TOPEKA (KSNT) – Headquarters won’t be the only place police could be stationed in the capital city if the department’s new plan is put into place.
Members of the Topeka Police Department Community Policing Unit have begun touring potential sites for community policing offices embedded within the community. Chief James Brown and commanders are also involved in the site selections. One office is being considered for each side of the city.
The sites would serve as a work base, a place to visit with residents, and a location to host events.
