TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Kansas Museum of History is celebrating Kansas Day Thursday.
Activities for schools, home schoolers, and the general public will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event commemorates the 154th anniversary of Kansas statehood which began on January 29th, 1861.
Visitors can enjoy hands-on activities and demonstrations of historic crafts.
A special Civil War exhibit is open as well. It features military items from Kansas soldiers and an extensive regimental flag collection.
Admission is free for the day.
