TOPEKA (KSNT) – A preliminary hearing date has been set for the man accused in Topeka’s first homicide of the year.
Kelsey Lee Fairchild will have his preliminary hearing on April 3rd.
Fairchild is accused of killing 18-year-old Colton Christenson on January 6th. According to the court affidavit a drug deal went bad and Fairchild shot Christenson over $500. Christenson attempted to drive away with a gunshot wound but crashed into a home on southwest 15th. He was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later.
