TOPEKA (KSNT) – The makers of TurboTax say they are once again filing state income tax returns electronically.
On Friday, February 6th, the company which makes the popular tax filing software (Intuit, Inc) announced it was suspending the electronic filing of state income tax returns after several states voiced concerns about fraudulent returns. The states of Utah and Minnesota said they had seen several fraudulent returns filed with the TurboTax program.
The company says after a careful review of it’s systems, it could find no security breach of its systems so it began forwarding e-filed returns on to the various states.
The Kansas Department of Revenue told KSNT News Friday it had not seen any of the fraudulent returns, and was still accepting the electronically filed income tax returns.
