HOYT (KSNT) – Jacqueline Moore of Topeka was killed in a collision between a Ryder truck and a car Wednesday night about 7pm.
The 56-year-old was driving a 2003 Oldsmobile and 33-year-old Christopher Smart was driving the truck.
According to Kansas Highway Patrol, several other people were injured in this accident. Two others were taken to the hospital in serious condition. All the seriously injured were in the passenger vehicle while the driver of the truck was uninjured.
A KHP trooper on the scene says the truck was on KS HWY 214, also identified as 110th Rd, at a stop sign. It was crossing the northbound lanes of US 75 when the passenger car drove under the truck at high speed.
Additionally, Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says there was a subsequent, additional injury accident south of the main crash scene. That accident occurred when a northbound passenger car collided into the rear of a pick-up truck in the backed up traffic.
